Bancroft Wines, one of the leading wine merchants in the UK, will become the exclusive UK distributor for Croatian wine producer Matosevic.
Matosevic vineyards are located in Istria, and run by Ivica Matosevic, one of the most successful wine producers in Croatia.
Matosevis produces both white and red wines, but is most famous for the production of Malvasia wines (Alba Malvasia, Alba Barrique, Alba Robinia and Alba Antiqua) made from a grape indigenous to Croatian region of Istria.
Most recently, Matosevic has been awarded Silver Medal for its Matosevic Grimalda Red 2008 at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2011.
Last month Ivica Matosevic presented his wines at the dinner held at the James Beard Foundation in New York City. Matosevic was the first Croatian wine producer to be invited by the James Beard Foundation, the leading gastronomy organisation in the United States.
London based Bancroft Wines is serving private, trade and corporate clients and offers a nationwide distribution service. This leaves no doubt that Matosevic wines will soon be available at the many prestigious restaurants and hotels around the UK.
