Jerolim beach on the island with the same name in Dalmatia has come on top of CNN’s list of world’s best beaches for a skinny dip.
Croatia is famed for its nudist beaches, and Jerolim island, which is part of the Pakleni islands archipelago and closest to the town of Hvar, is renowned for its unspoilt, rocky shoreline and crystal waters, says CNN.
Jerolim island is popular both with nudists and non-nudists. For those who prefer more privacy, CNN recommends hiking through the island’s groves and finding a secluded cove along the coast which can be explored by boat as well.
Along with Jerolim, Praia de Galheta (Santa Caterina, Brazil), the New Naturist Beach at Marinadi Camerota (Campania, Italy), Anantara Phuket Villas (Thailand) and Côte d'Azur (France) beaches were in top five respectively.
The latest recognition for Hvar region is one of the few that the island has received recently. Hvar has been included in the Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2012, where it was recommended as one of the world’s best regions to visit in 2012. Also, the readers of Conde Nast Traveler have voted the island of Hvar as one of the ten best European islands.
