27 – 31 July 2009 | Motovun Film Festival is a free art house film festival held in a beautiful fortified hilltop town in Istria. The setting for the festival, additional programmes and workshops are Motovun’s squares and winding streets. Its informal character and relaxed atmosphere earned it the attribute of “Cinema Paradiso”.

The festival programme has included some of the most successful independent films from all over the world. This year, a special season of new work from the festival's partner country Finland will be shown.

Motovun Film Festival attracts a huge crowd, every year tens of thousands of people come to Motovun to be a part of it. Festival goers can stay for free in the nearby campsite.
