Croatians are quite determined to have a holiday this summer, despite economic crisis and public appeals for saving. This is the result of the survey conducted by Visa card company on 400 respondents in four major cities – Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, and Osijek. The survey found out that as many as 91 per cent of respondents plan to take a holiday during their summer vacations.
42 per cent will be using cards, the survey said. This indicates customers’ understanding of benefits of non-cash payment, Visa reports. Most savings will be done on accommodation costs, since as much as 46 per cent of respondents plan to stay in their own houses or at family and friends’. Thos who will be paying for accommodation prefer payment cards over cash (32 against 20 per cent).
The majority of respondents (63 per cent) will spend up to EUR 500 on a whole trip, while 77 per cent will spend up to EUR 50 a day (not including accommodation).
