The number of newly issued construction permits (for buildings and civil engineering) increased by 13.3 per cent y/y in April to 1,073, the statistical office reported. Building construction permits, which represented 89 per cent of the total, rose by 12.6 per cent y/y to 955, while the number of civil engineering permits increased by 18 per cent y/y to 118.

The value of the projects was up by 33.7 per cent y/y to HRK 2.99 billion (EUR 403.5 million) in April due to the increase of 50.4 per cent y/y in the value of the building construction permits. Meantime, the value of civil engineering permit was up by 3.2 per cent y/y to HRK 817.4 million.

The newly issued permits provided for the construction of 1,562 dwellings in April, down by 6.2 per cent y/y. In January-April period, the number of issued building permits grew by 23.6 per cent y/y to 3,960 and their value increased by 9.8 per cent y/y to HRK 9.9 billion.
