Holidaymakers from the UK opting for non-eurozone destinations like Croatia can save money, an expert has noted.
Jonathan Mitcham, principle researcher at Which? Holiday, said that many consumers are looking at ways to cut back on their spending and choose destinations outside eurozone due to the current exchange rate.
"The low value of sterling is making trips to euro countries in particular far more expensive this year. For many, money is tighter than last year and others have a perception that things may get tougher, so they feel they can’t justify spending out on an expensive trip away,” Mitcham remarked.
"Currently, it will save you money to choose a holiday outside the euro zone, such as Croatia, Egypt or Turkey," Mitcham advised.
Last week, a study by sunshine.co.uk indicated that value for money is becoming more important than location and hotel reviews for Brits choosing an overseas holiday destination. 71 per cent of Brits have either booked a holiday abroad or plan to book a holiday abroad this year, according to this study.
Approximately ten million tourists visit Croatia every year, drawn by its beautiful coastline and eight national parks.
