The first Croatian Jurassic Park opened in Funtana, a small place near Porec in Istria. The park features eight dinosaurs that are 16 to 24 meters long and three smaller ones, all move and sound like the real ones.
The park also offers an exhibition hall with two dinosaur skeletons and a small dinosaur for children to ride on as well as a playground and numerous paths for visitors to wander around.
Croatian Jurassic Park is a private investment between one Croatian and two German companies. The park, which cost EUR 1.2 million to construct, has an area of 40,000 square meters and is the second dinosaur park in Europe. The first one was opened in Poland in 2004.
The park will be open throughout the year.
