HITRO.HR, the Croatian government's service facilitating communication between members of the public and the state administration, has been awarded the European Commission's Good Practice Label, a prize awarded for best European solutions in the area of electronic administration, the Financial Agency (FINA) said in a statement, HINA reports.
The award is part of the competition "European eGovernment Awards 2009", and as a result of receiving it, HITRO.HR was included in a catalogue of noted projects called "ePractice.eu". FINA said that the Good Practice Label and a global award HITRO.HR received recently for the best service concept in the area of company registration bore proof of efforts the government was making to reform the state administration, using modern and practical IT solutions.
The European eGovernment Awards is an initiative of the European Commission organised every two years, coinciding with regular high-level EU eGovernment conferences. The purpose of these Awards is to support the implementation of European eGovernment policy and strategies and facilitate good practice exchange. In this context, since their launch in 2003 the Awards have been promoting the best ICT-based solutions for public services in Europe.
