International tender for the construction of the new passenger terminal at Zagreb's airport will be opened at the start of 2010, says Croatia’s Infrastructure Ministry. Transport minister Bozidar Kalmeta also confirmed that tender documentation is being prepared.
Last autumn, the Croatian Construction Institute (IGH) and architects Neidhardt and Kincl have won an international tender for the architectural designs of a new passenger terminal for Zagreb Airport, but the planned construction was suspended due to financial crisis.
The total value of the project is estimated at EUR 280 - 300 million, including the building of a five-star hotel inside the new terminal, which is to cater for 5 million passengers. The new terminal should be completed by the end of 2011.
