The Croatian Association of Filmmakers has chosen Antonio Nuic's Donkey as the country's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award.

Co-produced by Propeler Film Film (Croatia), Film and Music Entertainment (UK), Bas Celik (Serbia) and Manufaktura (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the family drama won Best Screenplay, Cinematography and Music Award at Croatia's national Pula Film Festival.

It tells the story of a family going back to Herzegovina at the end of the war in Croatia and resolving decade-long issues. The film features excellent performances from Nebojsa Glogovac, Emir Hadzihafizbegovic, Natasa Janjic and Tonko Lonza.

The movie is now on release in Croatia and has already been selected for the 2010 Gothenburg and Rotterdam film festivals.
