Plans for a virtual shopping centre, expected to open next month, have been presented in Zagreb on Thursday (October 1). The 3D shopping centre will be an online store where people will be able to shop in an environment similar to the one in the high tech videogames.
Trillenium, a Zagreb-based company behind the project, has announced that it will initially invest EUR 1 million in the project. According to Hrvoje Prpic, one of the co-investors, Trillenium will be the first online 3D shopping centre in the world.
Spread over 180 thousand meters of virtual space, Trillenium plans to offer products from 90 local and foreign companies. Interested companies can hire space in the centre for EUR 130 per square metre.
Besides shopping, the centre will offer entertainment, social, business and other facilities that go with similar centres in the real world, the project manager and Trillenium director, Tomica Radosevic said at Thursday's press conference.
The centre will open its virtual doors on November 1 for shoppers from Croatia, and in 2010 most other European countries are expected to follow. At first around 30,000 clients are expected per day, with an annual turnover of EUR 13 million.
Trillenium is planning to open centers in Zagreb, Split, Rijeka and Osijek and to expand the business into the US and Europe.
