Italian skier Giuliano Razzoli won his first ever World Cup slalom race at the Snow Queen Trophy FIS event in Zagreb today (6 January).
His compatriot Manfred Moelgg came second and France's Julien Lizeroux was third.
Austrian Reinfried Herbst was fastest after the first leg but finished fifth. However, he retained his lead in the World Cup slalom standings.
"This race is unbelievable, I love it so much! It is really unique, the crowd here really cheers for everybody.
After the 1st run, in which I gave everything I had in me, I just tried the same in the 2nd run. I knew that this course suits me, and I made it. Although, it was not easy to reach a victory here. In the 2nd run I had such a high start number.
My family and friends are here with me in Zagreb. Tonight we are going for a celebration,” Razzoli said after the race.
