The first Skopje-Rijeka-Skopje flight on Monday landed at the airport on the northern Croatian Adriatic island of Krk, Hina reported.
The flights, introduced by the Rijeka-based company GAT Executive, will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, linking Rijeka and the Macedonian capital.
Aboard the plane which arrived in Krk on Monday were Macedonian business people, tourism workers, representatives of the cities of Skopje and Ohrid and Skopje Airport, and media.
A reception organised at the Rijeka Airport was also attended by Macedonian Ambassador to Croatia Danco Markovski.
The new flight is expected to facilitate tourism development in Macedonia and Croatia, as well as improve overall economic relations and trade between the two countries, said Markovski.
More flights connecting Rijeka and Skopje are to be introduced during the peak tourist season if necessary.
