The hotel price comparison site Trivago.co.uk has published a list of the most popular European five star hotels among holidaymakers, where one night is less than £50 per person.
According to Trivago, the average rate at a five-star hotel in the top 50 European cities is £165. However, for a luxurious weekend of relaxation in Europe’s top cities travellers do not have to dig too deep into their pockets: less than £50 per person is enough for an overnight stay at a lavish hotel including Hotel Excelsior in Dubrovnik.
Located on the Dubrovnik beachfront, guests at the Excelsior have a panoramic view over the Adriatic Sea. Since it was built in 1915, many celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor have checked in at this hotel. The 158 rooms are comfortable and cozy. Four restaurants and a bar provide plenty of variety and a delicious buffet breakfast.
The bar “Abakus” is one of the most popular places to be seen in Dubrovnik. With piano music, light food and a great selection of drinks, guests can bring the night to an end in a relaxing atmosphere. In the hotel wellness centre, many beauty treatments, massages and sport facilities are available.
The rates at Excelsior Dubrovnik start from £79 per double room per night including breakfast via Booking.com.
Other hotels that Trivago has identified as the ten luxury hotels with the best value for money are: Hesperia Fira Suites, Barcelona, Radisson Blu Centrum Hotel Warsaw, Royal Mare Crete, Meliá Mare Madeira Resort & Spa Funchal, Bristol Kempinski Berlin, Swissôtel Tallinn Hospes Amérigo Alicante, Vincci Selección Estrella del Mar Marbella and Hilton Helsinki Strand.
