Valamar Hotels & Resorts, the largest hotel chain in Croatia, has announced the opening of a new four star hotel in Dubrovnik. The construction of the Valamar Lacroma Resort, which is expected to open in May, has seen the investment of KN 250 million (around EUR 34.72 million).
Valamar Lacroma Resort is situated in a luxurious Mediterranean greenery of the Babin kuk peninsula, near the old town of Dubrovnik. Contemporary design by the renowned Austrian architect Boris Podrecca, unique view to the sea and Elaphiti islands and many additional features make it the ideal place for relaxation and holding business meetings, conferences and seminars.
Valamar Lacroma Resort will have 401 spacious rooms and suites equipped with intelligent room features and modernly furnished to a high four star level. It will be open year-round and focus on meetings, incentives, congresses and exhibitions, as well as leisure guests. The modern congress centre with a total exhibition area of over 1,000 m² includes a large multifunctional conference hall for up to 1000 persons dividable into 4 separate break-out sections, 7 additional meeting rooms with partially removable walls, large lobby and a 550 m² foyer. Six additional meeting rooms are available within hotels of Babin kuk resort, all within walking distance.
In 2009 Valamar Hotels & Resorts plans to invest around KN 100 million (around EUR 13.69 million) in the modernising and restructuring of pre-existing hotels.
