Wizz Air, the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe celebrates its 6th anniversary on 19 May, 2010. 

 

Since its first flight on 19 May, 2004 from Katowice in Southern Poland Wizz Air has become the largest airline in Central and Eastern Europe operating from 12 bases in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. The number of carried passengers in the past 12 months exceeded 8.4 million, translating into a year over year growth of 30%. 

 

Wizz Air operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, consisting of only new Airbus A320s. The airline will fly 34 aircraft this summer. The remaining order for over 100 aircraft underpins the airline’s ability to grow its existing markets and to enter new territories in the years to come.

Wizzair flies to Croatian capital Zagreb from London Luton, and the company recently announced the launch of flights from London Luton to Dubrovnik and Split next month.
