Holiday company Thomson will launch weekly flights from Glasgow Airport to the Croatian resort of Pula next year. The new route will start on May 14th and operate until October 29th 2011.
The Croatian resort Pula in Istria is a hotspot for tourists, especially those interested in Roman archaeology.
It is famous for its churches and its first-century Roman amphitheatre, which is still used as a summer concert venue. The town itself is surrounded by a backdrop of beautiful mountains with a vibrant and bustling city atmosphere.
Amanda McMillan, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: “The charter market remains strong at Glasgow and many holidaymakers appear to be returning to the traditional package holiday because of the value for money and the choice of destinations they serve”.
“The addition of new flight to Pula is good news for holidaymakers looking for great value holidays in the sun,” McMillan added.
