Zagreb has been featured among the top 20 holiday destinations for 2011 by the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. The Croatian capital was described as a "pocket-sized Vienna with the striking fin-de-siècle architecture".
While Dubrovnik has tended to attract most attention as a city-break destination in Croatia, Zagreb will attract even more tourists this year when the low-budget airline EasyJet begins regular flights there in February, the paper said.
The other recommended destinations by the Telegraph include London, Austrian Alps, Stratford upon Avon, Stockholm, Tallinn, Turku, Egadi Islands, Tallinn, Turku, Egadi islands, Florence, Kefalonia, bay of Kumlubuk, Tripoli, Marrakesh, Zimbabwe, Antigua, Sri Lanka, Yunnan, Peru, Patagonia and New Zeland.
