The UK's online travel agency On the Beach has tipped Croatia as the hottest destination for Brits planning a beach holiday in 2012.
The travel agency says that figures recently released by the Croatian Tourist Board support their statement that Croatia is fast becoming one of the top beach holiday destinations in Europe.
Croatia registered an eight per cent increase in visits in the first nine months of 2011, the tourist board has reported, and the country has sought to improve its tourism infrastructure in recent years in a bid to draw more tourists.
These improvements, according to the Croatian National Tourist Board, combined with Croatia's entry into the EU next year, will ensure the country's rising popularity with travellers.
Alistair Daly, Marketing Director of On the Beach, comments:
"Croatia is a unique country that will appeal to many different types of British holidaymakers. The country's exceptional cuisine makes it an essential stop-off on any gastro-tour and its natural beauty will delight any eco-tourist.
"However, Croatia's crowning glory is undoubtedly its beaches. The country is home to 1,244 islands and a stunning, unspoilt coastline that makes it the envy of many of Europe's more highly frequented beach destinations. Holidays to Croatia are perfect for any fan of sun, sea and sand and as the country's facilities and infrastructure continue to improve, holidays to this fabulous country can only get better."
On the Beach offers a wide range of affordable holidays to Croatia ideal for couples and families alike. The agency’s programme of holidays to Croatia includes a wide choice of 3, 4 and 5 star all inclusive and half board hotels in Croatia and hotels which are located in the most popular tourist resorts.
