Croatia and Tunisia are two main holiday destinations for Spaniards this year, tourism experts revealed.
The Spaniards have reduced their trips abroad and spend less money when travelling due to recession, experts from the tourism sector said on Monday.
Though the Spaniards have not given up travelling during their vacations, now many of them prefer travelling inside the country to save money.
The experts said that at the time of recession, the price of trips is the main factor for the tourists, who would now wait until the last moment when buying or booking vacations in the hope of getting better prices and promotions.
As for vacation destinations, the Spaniards have reduced their trips to expensive destinations, and now they tend to check carefully the prices before setting off, according to the experts.
Spaniards have also reduced their trips to Mexico due to the A/H1N1 influenza pandemic. The experts said that now for the Spaniards the major less expensive overseas vacation destinations are Tunisia and Croatia.
Spanish national carrier, Iberia, flies three times a week to Dubrovnik and twice weekly to Zagreb during this year's summer season.
