Croatian region of Istria has been featured as one of five ‘emerging wine regions’ by the American online magazine Food Republic.
Introducing its readers with “five unexpected wine regions making a splash right now”, the magazine says that Istrian “climate is ideal for growing Malvasia, the most widely planted white grape in the region” and recommends Matosevic’s Malvasia wine Alba Antica 2008.
Along with Istria, magazine features other regions across the world including Guerouanne (Morocco), Virginia (USA), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Sopron (Hungary).
Food Republic magazine aims to explore the new culture of food through stories, interviews, global conversations, and experiences.
Last month, Bancroft Wines, one of the leading wine merchants in the UK, announced that they will become the exclusive
UK distributor for Matosevic wines.
