To mark Croatia’s signing of the EU Accession Treaty in Brussels on Friday, the Polish EU Presidency launched an unusual project which involved filming a multimedia message that everyone could participate in.

Compiled from a variety of different recordings sent from people all over Poland, the video represents a symbolic gift from Poland to Croatia. The name of the project, "Dobrodošli", comes from the Croatian word for welcome.

"Travelling will be easier and more pleasant," a Polish young man says, while other remarks on "the possibility to develop the country through EU funds". Poles also say that they "love Croatia" and hope that the country will bring "a little sun and joy" to Europe. The video ends with the message "We're waiting for you."

The project was sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and in partnership with the European Commission Representation in Poland.
