The Regent Esplanade hotel in Zagreb has been selected by the Condé Nast Traveler readers as one of the ‘world’s best places to stay’ and included on the magazine’s prestigious annual Gold List.
The Gold List is Condé Nast Traveler's collection of the best hotels, resorts and cruise lines in the world. The list is based on results collected from the magazine's annual Reader's Choice Survey where some eight million votes are cast by savvy travellers.
The readers of Condé Nast Traveler rated contenders in the hotel category on a variety of criteria including rooms, service, food, location, design and activities, with Regent Esplanade Zagreb achieving a score of 87.6 out of 100. Regent Esplanade Zagreb is the only Croatian hotel to feature on the list.
Dating back to 1925, the Regent Esplanade Zagreb is one of the most famous and elegant buildings in Zagreb. Originally built to service passengers arriving on the Orient Express, the hotel is world-renowned for its impeccable service and legendary hospitality standards.
The hotel has hosted many celebrities including Josephine Baker, Charles Lindbergh, Orson Wells, Liv Ullman, Louis Armstrong and Woody Allen. The Regent Esplanade Zagreb has recently won the World Luxury Hotel Award 2011 in the ‘best luxury city hotel’ category.
