Yamato, the critically acclaimed Japanese troupe of Taiko drummers, return to Croatia to perform in Zagreb on February 26th, 2012 at Drazen Petrovic Hall.
Following their successful performance in 2010, Yamato is back to amaze audiences of Croatian capital once again.
Yamato is group of men and women who have rejuvenated the ancient Japanese tradition of Taiko drumming. The troupe's performances feature a collage of music and dance. The group draws their inspiration from the ancestral Japanese beliefs about the power of the drum.
Yamato was founded by Masa Ogawa in 1993 in Nara, "the land of Yamato" which is said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture. Since then, the troupe has grown from 4 to 17 members and played to more than a million people, giving over 2,000 performances on tours in Asia, Europe, North and South America.
