A lecture to introduce the life, work and legacy of Roger Boscovich will be held at the Royal Society in London on January 19th, 2012 at 6pm.
The lecture will be given by Professor Ivica Martinovic from the Institute of Philosophy in Zagreb, who is curator of the exhibition
'Roger Boscovich and the Royal Society' currently on display at the Royal Society (until February 15th, 2012).
Roger Boscovich was a renowned Croatian physicist, mathematician, astronomer and diplomat. He was born in Dubrovnik, but spent much of his working life in Rome. The lecture will introduce his life and work, and explore his legacy in fields including astronomy, geophysics, structural engineering and archaeology.
The lecture is free, open to all and no prior booking is necessary. Doors will open at 5.30pm for 6pm lecture. For more info visit the
