Dubrovnik is one of the five best destinations for bargain flights this summer, according to a study by the flight comparison website Fly.com.
Fly.com compiled a list of the destinations that offer the best and worst airfare deals to fly to from the UK by comparing the results of flight searches in January 2012 with those of January 2011.
More than a million searches were used in the study, and the flight comparison website compared the most popular summer destinations searched over this period.
Dubrovnik was 3rd on the list of the destinations that offer the best airfare deals. The study has found that flight prices to the Adriatic city have dropped 41 per cent year-on-year due to increased competition on the route.
Commenting on the study, Aaron Ritoper, Fly.com's UK general manager said:
“With the introduction of recent APD hikes and airline contraction, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find great flight deals. This study confirms that airline prices on average are higher this January than last, but there are still some bright spots, particularly Miami, Rio and Dubrovnik.”
The best flight prices this summer are for Miami, USA, and the worst are for Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. The study also revealed that booking early can mean huge savings for some destinations as some flights could go up as much as £500 per person in the run-up to summer.
