Prostor, a concept store that offers exclusive range of selected products by upcoming Croatian artists and designers, has opened in Hotel Lone in Rovinj.
The store is located in the airy open-plan lobby of the Hotel Lone and reinforces the hotel’s mission to innovate and encourage contemporary Croatian design. Its collection integrates and blurs the boundaries between art, aesthetics and functionality, and is a platform for artists and designers to gain exposure.
Products on offer include designer clothes, accessories, jewellery, contemporary art pieces, industrial and product design items, with highlights such as design toys from Antiforms by Ivan Levak, O! candles, and Madame Demode clothes and accessories. All products are made locally and Prostor insists on innovation and quality for every item. Prices of items range from EUR 10 – 700.
Signature Croatian design is an integral part to Hotel Lone, which is Design Hotels™’ first member in Croatia. Located in the picturesque Istrian town of Rovinj, the hotel was built to resemble a sleek white ocean liner floating on the hillside along the coast. The 248-room property has a “Y”-shaped structure, giving all rooms a spectacular sea or park views.
As the first lifestyle and business hotel in Croatia, Hotel Lone features a collection of bespoke furnishings including chairs and lamps from renowned designers Patricia Urquiola, Richard Schultz and David Rowland.
The hotel also offers a wide range of fine dining options, a Mediterranean-inspired wellness centre, and a range of event spaces including four large auditoriums.
Hotel Lone has been featured on the Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List 2012, ranking 25th among the 121 best new hotels in the world. It is the only Croatian hotel to make the list which represents the ultimate insider's guide to the hottest new hotels, spas, and restaurants of the year.
