Dubrovnik and its visitors will enjoy the music of Ana Rucner and guests at the “Ana in the City” festival which will open in Dubrovnik tomorrow. Founded last year by Rucner, famous Croatian cellist, the festival will take place from June 21-24.
The event will start at 5am tomorrow morning (June 20) at the mount Srdj with the special concert “Welcome to the summer” which will feature cello performance by Ana Rucner accompanied by Croatian harp player Marija Mlinar. The opening concert is a special gift to the people of Dubrovnik and city’s visitors.
Tomorrow's concert will be followed by two classical concerts at the Rector’s Palace. “Love Poetry Evening” on Friday evening (June 22) will see the performances of Ana Rucner on cello and Marija Mlinar on harp accompanied by Croatian actors and dancers under the direction of Jakov Sedlar. Concert “In a Rhythm of Tango” on Saturday (June 23) will see performances by Ana Rucner (cello), string quartet Rucner and Italian musical couple Soave.
The festival will close on Sunday (June 24) with a big concert at Babin kuk tourist complex. Programme will feature classical pieces, rock and cross over with Ana Rucner performing with many guests including Students of the Zagreb Musical Academy lead by string quartet Rucner, Mario Rucner (viola), Folk Ensemble Lindjo, Vocal group Subrenum, band Srebrna krila and Thomas Buritch as conductor of the concert.
Closing concert is also a special gift to the people of Dubrovnik and city’s visitors. Ana Rucner hopes that festival will become a traditional event in Dubrovnik.
