Istria Tourist Board has launched “Istra Gourmet”, a smartphone application that gives visitors instant information on restaurants, taverns, and wine and olive oil tasting rooms in Istria.

The new app is available for Apple and Android devices on four languages: English, German, Italian and Croatian. It gives info on 120 restaurants, 49 taverns and agro-tourism establishments, 111 wine makers and 136 olive oil producers, divided into three categories: Gourmet guide, Wine roads and Olive oil roads. The best in each category have been awarded the TOP 2012 title.

Each listing features the name and picture of the establishment, address, contact details, opening hours and a list of specialties for restaurants. There is also a very useful feature - the distance between the establishment and current location of a smartphone owner. App users can search for specific establishments by name, location, category, recommendations and quality.

The “Istra Gourmet” smartphone app is available for download for free. To download the app for Apple devices (iPhone, iPod and iPad) visit iTunes app store, and for Android devices visit Google app store. Those who don’t use smartphones, can download the Wine & Gastronomy of Istria pdf brochure.
